first things first, get a walk in. it was SO very windy.
there was a caretaker there this morning, to watch grandma, so brian's parents could come with us. we walked across the river with everyone, despite the wind. into harper's ferry, but right back out. the national park service had signs up to indicate that there was a government shutdown, but mostly business seemed to be open as usual, just there were no rangers. we got to chat with cesar, the foster kid that is now over 18, but staying with brian's parents for the holidays. grandma is much different than last time we were here. i haven't her her say anything yet, and she needs significantly more assistance with everything.
